It’s time for next big release on Hellotravel. This time we have addressed your biggest concern, DATA SECURITY.

After collecting multiple feedbacks and having multiple rounds of internal meetings we have come up with this solution:

We have started showing virtual email id in a lead. This means that you & your team will not see actual email id but the virtual one. Sending mail to a virtual email id works exactly like you would do with a real email address. This means that you can send email to travelers via HOOK or your ESP (email service provider) but only through the virtual address.

How it works:

Your lead purchase mail will now have option to reply to a traveler through using the 'Send Reply' option. Travelers will receive your email immediately and their replies will be received, as usual, in your inbox as well as hook. Alternatively, you may use hook to communicate & receive mails from travelers.

You may treat the virtual email id like original email id and continue with your regular activities against a lead.

Q. I don’t use HOOK, how will I send email to travelers?

A. We have given a button of send email to traveler in the lead information email we send on purchase of a lead. Using your Gmail/Outlook etc you can send an email to a traveler once you click on that button. Difference is you will see a virtual email address which is directly linked to traveler's actual email address.

Q. Can I see actual email address of travelers?

A. We have created a ‘My Contacts’ settings page where you can select ‘Show lead contacts’ in all your accounts (both master and all subusers). This will allow every user in your company to see the email address of a traveler on lead-detail page. Here's the screenshot of the options:

However, we recommend you to keep the mode to "hide lead contacts" to prevent misuse of data.

Q. What is 'Show lead contacts for 7 days only'

A. If you want to show email of travelers to your team but still worried about data leakage, then you can select this option which will show email address in leads received in last 7 days only. This way no one will have access to all email addresses in your account.
